Friday Night Nuevo Arenal

Life in paradise is mostly too easy. Laid back, low stress, very little pressure to complete demands from outside forces like governments or work. Life resembles a day under a coconut palm, where one sleeps in the shade and drinks of the fruit of the tree and makes love under the moon. Monkeys toss mangos and then guide you to their grove of trees bursting with green plump fruit, free for the picking. Ah yes life is good in Costa Rica, the tropical paradise in central america.

Empty coconut trees are harder to find these days as are bar stools on Friday nights in most any expat neighborhood of Costa Rica. My pueblo, Nuevo Arenal, is no different. Every bar and restaurant has people spilling out into the streets - quite a contrast from daily life in this otherwise small town. Arenal boasts at least 8 bar / restaurants plus another five or more restaurants - a great number for a town with only one gas station and two cops on duty.

Last night was no different. At Rumor's bar where James and Sophia are now providing outstanding meals to the happy patrons, I devoured a chicken quesadilla becuase i was too hungry to make it home for dinner. I was pleasantly pleaseed with my choice as it came with guacamole, salsa and cream. Sophia kindly remmebered that i dislike over salting and did not put any extra on my food. Lovely. In fact i could not eat all my meal and shared with others at my table.

There was quite a racket inside where some kind of video bolling game was keeping many people occupied. Lots of expats and ticos mixing it up and having a grand old time.

Lots of fun in arenal so come on over and set awhile and when looking for a place to live check with the folks at Blue Water Real Estate. They can help you with rentals and great real estate investment deals on Lake Arenal in Costa Rica.
