The largest fresh water lake in Costa Rica is Lake Arenal in the Tilaran mountains. Just over the hills from the hot plains and beaches of Nicoya and Guanacaste, Lake Arenal provides healing greenery year round and refreshing breezes on hot days.

Lake Arenal has seen a boom in real estate prices since Jan 2005, with baby boomers and real estate developers snapping up the massive land opportunities still awaiting the astute investor.

Seems that now every two kilometers around Lake Arenal, from Tilaran to Arenal, Fortuna, there is a real estate agents office. One reason so many agents are working the Lake Arenal region is the year round temperate climate, wide open opportunities, and new gated communities being developed for turn key lifestyles.

While we have seen a slow down in real estate sales in late 2007, the spring of 2008 has logged good property closings.
