Costa Rica real estate prices
Submitted by Carlo on Wed, 04/25/2007 - 02:32.Why Tambor is the hottest real estate area in Costa Rica?
Tambor is most attractive area of all of Costa Rica. More than Escazu, Tamarindo, Jaco, Quepos, Dominical, Samara, Nosara, Papagayo or any other place.
Why? There are a lot of reasons to find, but the most important ones are:
-Safety
-Infrastructure
-Connectivity
-Climate
-Flora & Fauna
-Beauty
-Marina on its way
-Several mega resorts on its way
-3rd golf course on its way
-And last but surely not least: Very attractive prices
The prices in Tambor are in my opinion still way underpriced.

Submitted by Bas on Mon, 04/09/2007 - 23:59.I can certainly say that with the help of a reliable real estate company and good attorney it is safe for foreigners to invest in Costa Rica. It is always good to invesigate before you make a decision! Statistics state Costa Rica ranks 4th place in the world as an ideal environment for foreign investment. Foreigners enjoy the same rights as locals and do not require any special conditions to purchase property within Costa Rica.
So yes > I know its safe to invest in Costa Rica as long as you have the right people around you!

Costa Rica: HOTTEST real estate market in the World
Submitted by Carlo on Sat, 04/07/2007 - 22:08.Costa Rica is changing very fast recently. However, prices of properties in Costa Rica are changing a lot faster nowadays.
There are lots of people that are buying real estate in Costa Rica now. This to avoid that they will pay triple in a year for what they want to buy, or to sell their real estate in 3 years from now and to make a huge return on their investment.
Costa Rica Beach Living
Submitted by David Forester on Sat, 04/07/2007 - 21:52.I spent my first year in Costa Rica living mostly as a house sitter in Tamarindo, the last house at the time in Playa Langosta. The year was 1991 and i had been living the previous five years in Portland, Oregon. Upon arrival in Costa Rica i first noticed how beautiful and friendly the women were. And arriving the beach I found warmth and sand and sun to be a grand counterbalance to the wet cold foggy winter weather of the Pacific North West.

Mexico Property Ownership Laws Restrictive
Submitted by JoseQuervo on Sat, 04/07/2007 - 20:31.Mexico may have beautiful beaches, but unless you were born there you will never own land with 200 kilometers of the beach without a Mexican Partner. Your partner is usually a bank in a realtionship known as FIDEOCAMISO. Basically the land is owned by the bank (the Mexican Citizen) and they lease it to you on long term contracts. These contracts are easily transferred to other 'owners'.
In Costa Rica, the only restriction of this nature is that the Government owns or controls land up to 200 meters from any high water line, spring or river.

Costa Rica or Mexico
Submitted by JoseQuervo on Sat, 04/07/2007 - 19:49.I have lived in both Mexico and Costa Rica for the past 20 years and find a great difference between both countries. While Costa Rica is laid back, peaceful, with a reasonable cost of living, Mexico is wild and dangerous and exciting and the food is so damn good!
I think i like Costa Rica better, if only because it is so much safer!
Mountains or Beaches
Submitted by David Forester on Sat, 04/07/2007 - 16:55.I live in the mountains of Costa Rica where even on the hottest days of the year it never gets over 90 degrees F. While at the beaches of Costa Rica, where real estate prices are as hot as the air, it is often 110 degrees F. Much of Costa Rica property lies above 2000 feet elevation, and warm days and cool nights make year round living a pleasure. While the beaches are hot and sexy the mountains are green and relaxed.
